ABOUT ME

.

Born in Hamburg and raised, I consider that a private environment at a very early brought into contact with cruise ships. While also included airplanes, cars, sports, and flora and fauna to the interests and the cruise ships have stopped right then, but soon all hobbies. It occurred to the same the first pictures of cruise ships. Whenever the time has allowed, have been more and more cruise ships "captured".

The years passed, contacts were established, the school successfully completed. The contact with the world cruise was carried tours, cruises, etc. expand steadily. Due to his training as a travel agent and personal reasons I joined the City in 1998 by Hamburg to Düren (Rheinland). This is based, unfortunately, a photo break from 1998-2002. The connection to the cruise ships is in the form of cruises and ship-visits, however, remained composed during this time, though not so intense.

After six years of tedious despair came a 2004 basic, professional and personal changes and a move on my part was. Since that time, I live with my wife (Wedding 2009) and our son (* 2009) meeting in Cologne, the heart beats to the cruise ships more since then. We are now working together well, take care of every year cruise groups and extend the renewal of knowledge through their own cruises and ship-visits. Excellent contacts with shipping lines and key positions in the current bear at home and abroad to develop our knowledge and allow for the travel agency an appropriately qualified advice.

For the "Ship-spotting" these benefits are of course no less useful. The time of the old classics such as "Eugenio Costa", "Achille Lauro", "Ivan Franko", "Britannis", "Americanis" & Co. are, unfortunately long over, but the cruise is still alive in the form of modern ocean liners and elegant mega-yachts.

Based on the real, old "ocean liner" of old was also the idea to this page. And if not all the ships to cheap mass carriers and the market does not completely discount the stock market or the level is on board this fall to zero, we remain the modern, white and colored liners loyal to the seas ...

The photo-hunting ground stretches from the North Sea-Baltic Canal (Kiel Canal) over the river Elbe from Hamburg to Cuxhaven, the river Ems, Amsterdam / Ijmuiden, Rotterdam and Antwerp to Lisbon. The best photo positions of each region are of course known to me and the goal is always to photograph the ships in service and under ideal lighting conditions - a bit of madness is one of them. Sometimes, unfortunately, compromise is necessary. For example, on holiday or at inappropriate times of arrival and departure of ships. The "Weather God " is unfortunately not always in a good mood.

For me it is primarily important to photograph the ships optimally and to not make the first photos of the ship in bad weather. Patience is often the motto for good pictures. All photos I have in high resolution and top quality!

The hunting equipment consists of various lenses and covers the focal lengths of 16-400mm. Currently serves as the body of the Canon EOS 7D. The predecessors were Canon EOS 10D, 20D, 30D, 450D and 50D.

Not just a hobby but also the profession of travel agent with a focus on cruises, it brings with it that I now more than 70 cruise ships also become acquainted himself could. Check out the travel agent: www.kreuzfahrten-mehr.de

Many of my photos that I've made in recent years can be seen on selected web pages and printed in international cruise magazines. Often, the photos also used in the brochures of the cruise shipping companies.
